Helite Air Vests
Helite is a French company and one of the leading names in airbag protection for equestrians. Their air vests are used by riders at all levels, from weekend hackers to international event riders, providing impact protection in the event of a fall.
Airbag Technology
Helite vests use a mechanical trigger system connected to the saddle by a lanyard. When the rider separates from the horse, the lanyard activates a CO2 cartridge that inflates the airbag in a fraction of a second. The vest cushions the spine, neck, ribs, hips and tailbone, significantly reducing the impact force during a fall.
Vest Styles
Helite offers several styles to suit different riding situations. The Zip’In range features a removable airbag that transfers between compatible outer garments, while standalone vests can be worn over any jacket. For competition, slimline options fit discreetly under a show jacket without affecting presentation.
Approved for Competition
Helite air vests meet safety standards required for eventing, showjumping and other FEI disciplines. They are a common sight at all levels of competition and are increasingly worn during training and everyday riding too.
After Deployment
Once triggered, a Helite vest can be reset with a new CO2 cartridge, which takes only a few minutes. The outer covers are machine washable, and the airbag mechanism is built to last through multiple activations over the life of the vest.
