Stud Girths
Stud girths from Kentucky Horsewear carry a wide protective panel built into the underside of the girth itself, designed to shield the horse’s belly from contact with studded shoes when the front feet swing through under a fence. Every option in the range uses the same anatomic shape that follows the natural curve through the elbow and shoulder, an EVA protective inner panel, three D-rings for schooling equipment, and strong elastic at both ends to distribute pressure evenly across the underside.
The range splits by liner and length. The Anatomic Stud Girth is the base option in artificial leather without a lining. The Leather Stud Girth (in black or brown) adds a soft faux leather liner over the contact area. The sheepskin family covers four options: the standard Sheepskin Stud Girth and Sheepskin Anatomic Stud Girth use a detachable artificial sheepskin liner with hook-and-loop attachment, the Sheepskin Stud Girth Special pairs the sheepskin liner with a distinctive PVC “basketball” outer for a different look, and the Sheepskin Stud Girth Cover is sold separately as a spare lining for the existing sheepskin models. Two short versions, the Short Stud Girth and Short Sheepskin Stud Girth, are sized for monoflap eventing saddles and are also stocked in the eventing girths section.
All artificial sheepskin liners are machine washable at 30°C, and the artificial leather wipes clean with warm soapy water between competitions. For the matching upper layer, the showjumping saddle pads range covers Kentucky options designed to colour-coordinate, and the wider girths range covers jumping girths for showjumping without stud protection and dressage girths for the test phase.
