Bridle Headpieces

The headpieces here all come from Dy’on and share the brand’s S-shaped anatomic design, with a pronounced curve through the crown and the browband loop positioned lower than on a traditional headpiece to clear the sensitive area at the base of the ear. Three sit within Dy’on’s main bridle lines (Dy’on Collection, New English Collection, and US Collection), each finished in Grade 1 Catalan European leather with cream stitching and brass buckles on the throat lash, and intended to pair with the matching cheekpieces, nosebands, and browbands from the same collection.

The fourth option is the Dy’on Hackamore Headpiece, built specifically for the brand’s hackamore bridle. It uses a more pronounced S-shape than the bridle versions and is the only one without a throat lash buckle, set up instead to attach to Dy’on’s hackamore cheekpieces. Each headpiece is stocked in Pony, Cob, Full, and Extra Full, with black and brown options across the range. Pony sizes are sometimes on back order, so checking stock before ordering is sensible.

For replacing a worn headpiece on an existing Dy’on bridle, matching to the correct sub-collection keeps the leather grade, stitch colour, and hardware consistent across the bridle. For building a new bridle from spares, the wider bridlework section covers complete bridles, reins, and bridle accessories alongside.

The shaped crown clears the ear cartilage and spreads pressure across a wider poll area which encourages softness.

Smooth calf leather over open cell foam dries faster than fluffy padding and resists salty build-up.

Measure the loop width; replace the keeper if needed so the throatlash buckle sits flat and safe.
