Lead Ropes
Lead Ropes
The lead ropes range is anchored by Kentucky Horsewear and Dy’on, covering four main use cases distinguished by length and attachment style: everyday handling and transport at 2m, in-hand work at 2.3m, training at 3.7m, and lunging at 8m. The base material across most options is tightly braided nylon, chosen for grip without abrading the handler’s hands, with a buffalo leather option for a more traditional finish and a chain combination stocked for stronger control situations.
Everyday 2m options are stocked in three formats distinguished by their clip system. The standard version uses a fixed trigger clip and is available in a wide colour range designed to coordinate with matching head collars. The loop-style version finishes with a loop fastening rather than a fixed clip, letting the handler switch between a trigger clip and a chain depending on the horse and situation. The panic hook version replaces the standard clip with a quick-release hook that detaches under pressure, set up for use in cross ties or in transport where a horse pulling back could otherwise get caught.
Training and lunging lengths cover groundwork and arena work, with longer training leads offering enough distance to maintain contact during in-hand exercises, and 8m lunge ropes set up with trigger clips for daily lunging on the head collar. For stronger control during handling, a buffalo leather lead with a stainless steel chain section (extendable with an additional double chain) covers situations where a young or excitable horse needs firmer guidance. Matching head collars, lead chains, and head collar accessories sit within the wider head collars and lead ropes section.
