Bombers Bit Happy Tongue 2.5 Ring
The Bombers Bit Happy Tongue 2.5 ring offers a mild gag action for your horse. This can be useful for horses that require a stronger bit than a normal snaffle. We often find that this type of bit is used for show jumping and cross-country when the horse becomes a little stronger to hold.
The mouthpiece is designed with a medium port to create space for the tongue. As a result this relieves tongue pressure and allows the horse to relax when on the bit.
This Happy Tongue 2.5 Ring is often suited to horses with sensitive and large tongues that do not respond well to tongue pressure. The 2.5 ring gag action will give more control than that offered by a loose ring snaffle for example.
The top ring is attached to the cheekpieces to apply poll pressure. This results in the horses head to lower, while the bottom half-ring gives leverage and therefore causes a head raising action. When these actions are combined, it results in a gag action.
The mouthpiece of the Bombers Sweet Iron bits will oxidize easily when it comes in contact with moisture. The iron creates a warm, sweet taste in the horse’s mouth. This of course, encourages mouthing, salivation and acceptance of the bit.
When riding with the Happy Tongue 2.5 Ring, the reins can be attached to the bit in a number of ways. To create a desired action, you can attach the reins to either the bottom half ring or the bigger main ring and as a result will lessen the gag action.
