Kentucky Horsewear Chest Protection
The Kentucky Horsewear Chest Protection is perfect for any horse that suffers from sensitive skin and is easily marked from rubs and pressure. Easy to put on your horse, it is great for newly clipped horses that might be suffering from over sensitive skin, whilst the coat grows through.
It is both breathable and lightweight and will fit comfortably under a stable rug, under rug or turnout rug to prevent rubbing. Thankfully the Kentucky Horsewear Chest Protection can be used with any brand of horse rug.
Simple to put on, just slip the protection over the neck of the neck of your horse and close the Velcro closure behind the front legs.
Fabrics & materials
The outside of the Chest protection is made from a mix of polyester and lycra. On the inside, the chest protection has a combination of lycra and Kentucky’s well-known artificial rabbit skin. The artificial rabbit skin is positioned on the areas that are most sensitive to rubbing.
There is a Velcro closure to secure the Protection behind the front legs. As the product is made from lycra, it easily adapts to every kind of shape.

The Chest Protection is available in four sizes: S, M, L, XL. It’s available in one classic color, black.
Machine Washable
Most of the Kentucky products are machine washable at 30 degrees. However, we recommend washing it as infrequently as possible and using our protective washing bags in order to maintain quality over the long term. We also recommend using professional machines (larger capacity) to limit damage due to the drum of the normal washing machine. To dry it, simply put it outside on a sunny day. Do Not Tumble Dry.
