It is an excellent option for robust horses that either do not tolerate tongue pressure well or possess a larger, fleshier tongue than average.

This Trust Inno Sense Combination Hackamores with port exerts pressure on the nose rather than in the mouth. They come with adjustable screw-in stoppers and an allen key supplied, which allows customization of the mouthpiece’s movement. Consequently, riders can adjust the bit’s setting in the horse’s mouth by setting the stoppers in position. The mechanism is available in both short and long shank versions.
A longer shank amplifies more pressure on the nose than a short shank. However, most horses new to this bit will not require the longer shank. When utilized properly, the hackamore can be quite potent and effective.
